An action-thriller about Danny (Jet Li), a man raised as a submissive "attack dog" for a loan shark (Bob Hoskins). After his master is seemingly killed, Danny is taken in by a kind, blind piano tuner (Morgan Freeman) and his stepdaughter, learning to live as a civilized human before his violent past catches up.
